The Akashic Records – Library of the Universe

If you have ever been to a library or even accessed an online one, you would know the feeling of having vast information that is readily available at your fingertips. Knowing that you can ask almost any question or query, there will be a list of records for you to pour over and devour. Yet this is only knowledge that is gained and written by humans.

What if it was a library of the universe instead, the one that holds the truth of everything ever to exist and will? This would then be the library of Akashic Records.

What Are the Akashic Records

To put it simply, the Akashic Records are a collection of all universal memories, feelings, desires, events and actions that have occurred since the beginning of time. This collection contains an all-time continuum meaning the past, the present, and the future, of every being to ever exist, not just humans.

How To Access The Akashic Records

They say that anyone can access the records. We unknowingly access them many times in our daily life during an intuitive hunch we get. Many ways to access the records include meditation, intuitive study, tutorials, and guides. Yet, some fundamental principles stay the same. Here is the process:

It is essential to set an intention and be clear on what you’re seeking and why. This clarity is significant. Acceptance is needed if you just want to explore and browse the records to confirm their existence.

Next, if there is something specific you are looking for, think of it in terms of a question. Take your time to understand what you are asking. There is no right or wrong when it comes to what you want to know. You might not get an answer, but you must be willing to try.

Hold your intentions clearly in your mind when you are ready. You can also ask guides to assist you. Allow your body to relax; you can do this through meditation or your preferred practice. Allow your energy to shift to an open, relaxed, and receptive state. Allow time for this to ground or center you and then ask to be allowed access to the records.

How To Read The Akashic Records

Interestingly, many people’s records or answers are later shown in dreams, so it shouldn’t be disheartening if nothing happens presently. It takes people many tries to tune in, and it’s okay if it doesn’t work out. Try to experiment with different methods and remember that all beings are psychically connected to the collective consciousness.

Information can come to you in a visual or auditory manner, or even in the form of a guide. If you are connected to another being or Akashic record reader, you can seek their guidance.

Once you’re done with your experience, you can bring yourself back. Here it is important to record what you have experienced. Any signs, symbols, thoughts, or impressions can later bring up more revelations.

They say that the records are revealed and conveyed in a language you can understand. The answers to your questions will reveal themselves in terms of you gaining more information about a relationship if that is what you were inquiring about. If you were trying to understand an insight, the core of it will be revealed. These different facets of your life can be accessed to gain more understanding.

In fact, another thing that is important to remember is that if a certain piece of information is not revealing itself to you, it might be counterproductive for your journey. The records have filters that can keep you from accessing them in an ego-driven state and from being misused.

What Happens When You Access The Akashic Records

When you access the Akashic Records, the channeling will look different for each person. They can appear as a library, a movie, or take the form of any material you may be comfortable with, such as a guide answering a question. What one sees is a reflection of their point in that journey.

The word Akashic is derived from the Sanskrit word Akasha which is a combination of the word “ether” and the other, which means sky or open space. In Hinduism, it signifies everything that exists on the material plane. Philosophically, it takes the form of an ethereal fluid cosmic entity that is present everywhere and is the life force through which everything functions.

However, this universal energetic force and memory is not a new discovery. The collective unconscious has always been acknowledged in history through many cultures, religions, and traditions long before the term Akashic Records was coined. For example, in Latin, “Spiritus Mundi” has always existed, meaning the “world spirit” where the universal memory of all consciousness exists.

The earliest reference of the Akashic Records in modern times was made by Helena Blavatsky, who learned of the records from Tibetan monks who used the word Akasha to explain that the records could be found in tablets of astral light.  Her contemporary and fellow Theosophist, Alfred Percy Sinnett, then coined the term. But who made it famous? Edgar Cayce.

Edgar Cayce, The Book of Life & The Akashic Records

He was the most documented psychic and spiritualist of the 20th century. Edgar Cayce was called the father of holistic medicine as he wrote about holistic health and the treatment of illness. In fact, his readings not only covered the physical body but delved into dream work, mediation, spiritual growth, and even reincarnation.

His psychic readings also drew significant attention as he would diagnose illnesses, and past lives and give prophecies to people in an unconscious state. When he was asked where he derived this knowledge, he said he accessed the subconscious of the person in front of him from the Akashic Records.

He defined the Akashic Records as the “Book of Life” or “God’s Book of Remembrance”. In fact, in Edgar Cayce’s own words, he defined them as:

“Upon time and space is written the thoughts, the deeds, the activities of an entity…Hence, as it has been oft called, the record is God’s book of remembrance; and each entity, each soul – as the activities of a single day of an entity in the material world – either makes some good or bad or indifferent, depending upon the entity’s application of self.”

This storehouse of information sits on itself with the ability to transform and influence our life with knowledge. His ability to draw from it allowed him to make accurate prophecies and know how to benefit the individual in front of him. We, too, can grow from it. Understanding ourselves, our karma and our cycles will definitely help.
