From Forest to Faith: Life Lessons from a Mushroom Forager

The number of things that are absolutely true forever are very few. When we accept something as true we usually forget that this only means relatively true. As in, it is true for you, if you believe in it. When you assess truth in this way you start to realize the potential effect of believing in something. The truths we believe in make our experience. And yet what we choose to experience is based on what we believe is true. So then, is truth self-causal? Can you cause something to become true by believing in it?

The Power of Belief and The Energy of Faith

If you believe in something, does it become true simply for believing it? This is what we would refer to as Faith. Faith is a fascinating thing because it is in fact real and can have life-changing impacts on people, but the way in which it is real depends on how you use it. Faith is basically a feeling of trust and surety of safety. Feelings are real energy and they have a direct and profound impact on our surroundings and on our life. But how much can you impact things with just your feelings? What can you do with faith?

My Journey Into The Heart of Faith

To discover this truth, the truth of what can be done with faith, was what I spent 3 years doing while living as a professional mushroom forager. How far could I push the limits of faith? What can human beings do or become if we were to dive completely and totally into faith without hesitation, without doubt, and without needing a complete understanding?

How Faith Grows Stronger Through Discipline and Fasting

At the conclusion of my journey, many years in the making, I came to find that there are certain sequences of experience that have to be aligned correctly in order for faith to be a functional and applicable part of life. The ability to use faith as a skill is connected to promoting abstinence and fasting because engaging in activities where you are indifferent to your body makes your faith stronger and more real. It makes the power of your mind the priority. If you are in any state that feels weak or lacking, you are not in faith. Faith must be built by prioritizing the soul and giving less significance to the physical.

Declaring Faith with Certainty and Power

Believing in something as true isn’t a logical equation. If you say out loud that the sky is blue it feels pretty easy to say. Pretty obvious and basic and simple. There isn’t any argument or questioning. Now try saying: “I believe that I am safe because “God” makes it so” and see how that feels. Stating your faith out loud should feel like saying that the sky is blue. No internal argument, no need for justification, it is a simple statement and belief that comes with a feeling. The energy that feelings create have real impacts on our surroundings and actually change the world around us in very real ways.

How to Navigate Life’s Chaos Through Trust

Imagine that you are in a situation where you have to make an important life decision and you aren’t sure what to choose. With limited time you have to make a life-changing decision that will set your future in one direction or another. On what knowledge or information will you make this decision? Based on yourself? Your own ideas? Or will you trust a higher power to guide you? How will you know that your decision is correct without faith? For every person will someday face chaos, and it is only by having faith that we can navigate the storms of chaos.

Faith as a Life Path, Not Just a Manifestation Tool

So then if faith is a method of dealing with uncertainty then how can it be used? It is said that Micheal Phelps envisioned himself winning eight Gold medals in the Olympics long before he actually did it. If we can call this faith then can you use faith to get anything? In my experience, faith seems to draw you towards a specific path in life. The belief in a higher power provides direction towards where you should be and what you should be doing in relation to everyone and everything else. It provides a way of being and feeling that makes you think clearly, prioritize what matters most, and gives you the motivation to push through discomfort for something greater.

So what great future are you planning for yourself with your faith? Is it something that will evolve you? Will it make you into the next best version of yourself? And more importantly, how did you come to the conclusion that that future version of yourself is the best possible version? Could it be that there is a higher power with a better vision in mind? Could it be that the creator of all things has already been leading you on the path to the best potential version of yourself. With this in mind it is best to approach faith with an attitude of strength and courage. For you never know which way faith will take you, you only know that it is the path you must walk.

You Are Part of a Bigger Plan: How Faith Connects Us All

Faith cannot get things that you want to have. It gets you what you need to have. This is because your life is connected with everyone and everything else. We are all one, which means that the individual life path you are living is intricately connected to the lives of everyone around you who you meet and interact with. It is the knowing that puts you in the right place. It is doubt in faith that leaves you feeling lost. How we feel makes or breaks our faith.

Emotional Mastery: The Foundation of Real Faith

Emotional control is fundamental to having faith. Emotional control is more important than your understanding of your faith. You can have faith through feelings without fully understanding it in your mind. Remember that faith leads you to something that is better. A future that is brighter and more beautiful. A future where you are safe and well and at peace. This is what you must feel when you have faith. If you have feelings that are negative then faith will not work for you. At the center you must be at peace and be willing to accept whatever comes for you as everything that comes through faith is given by “God”. For us to feel negative emotions is automatically in opposition to faith.

Gratitude: The Root of Spiritual Power

All negative emotions, whether they be resentment, greed, hatred, or fear, are all examples of inner expressions that you do not have faith. Faith at its core comes from gratitude. It is the gratitude for receiving something good that is good. If you feel like you are not receiving anything that is good then you will not have a connection to “God”.

This feeling of receiving something good is what we must feel in order to create the correct energy circuit with “God”. Without gratitude you are saying that you don’t like what “God” is offering to you right now. You would only have negative emotions if you believe in yourself more than “God”. If you come to believe that your own judgements of things are superior to the simple acceptance of what actually occurs then you are opposing your faith. Faith is the acceptance of a higher power’s judgement.

Living with Purpose: Faith as Life’s Grand Adventure

By living my life according to this basic framework of faith I was able to make my dreams come true. It is not easy to follow faith. It is not comfortable. It is a life of purpose, a life that generates joyful, and meaningful experiences simply because you live it. Instead of living to hope to someday go on vacation and find meaning or purpose, you toss  out the 9 to 5 and the apartment and you take on the adventure of your life. Having faith means that you live your life in the way that you are supposed to. You are living the highest version of yourself. Knowing that this worth is called faith.

Becoming the Person You Were Born to Be

Walking this path will take you on a grand adventure that never truly ends. It is to empower yourself to embody your purpose. It is to believe in something bigger and greater. Walking this path will turn you into the person that you were born to be. It is a path that was made for you, it is right for you, and all you have to do is believe in it and live it. Look for reasons to feel connected, reasons to believe. Listen to the answers from your heart and you will know what it means to have true peace.

I have dedicated my life to Amanita Muscaria, after years of searching for true healing. As one of the few people in the world who has committed himself to mastering the secrets of this legendary mushroom—famously depicted in Mario Brothers and woven into ancient traditions—I have walked a path of deep discovery. After spending a decade in South America, I abandoned my former life to follow a higher calling. Returning to the United States, I took a radical leap of faith, embracing the uncertain path of a professional mushroom forager to share the wisdom of Amanita with the world. My journey has been one of immense challenges and profound revelations. Through hardship, I learned the true meaning of spiritual devotion. My success was not born from comfort, but from unwavering faith. I believe the power of the human spirit is infinite and eternal. And for those who dare to challenge themselves, an extraordinary path awaits. Amanita Warrior,

After many years of living in Brazil and having dedicated myself to my spiritual path I had reached a plateau. I was dedicated to my practices and my disciplines, but I was missing something. It was like I had worked for a long time to evolve mentally and develop my thinking to work in my favor, but I hadn’t really taken this into the world and used it. I needed to learn how to use my knowledge and get real life experience with it. What I had in my mind and my heart was a vision of the future, and it was what I lived for. But believing in a vision in one’s own mind could be just a trick of the mind. In order to find out if my vision would come true, I had to put it to the test. If I could take it into challenging situations and come out of it on top I knew that I would discover a way to influence reality in a totally new way. What I knew was that faith makes something real. A belief makes something true for you. So then what must we believe to make our dreams come true? I intended to find out.

For many years, I wandered the Earth in search of truth. The world, as I knew it, was filled with insanity, repetitive routines, and a system designed to keep us bound. Lies were passed off as reality, and I refused to partake in the illusion. From an early age, I knew I didn’t belong in this world—I only craved the truth.

Wisdom of the Century: Lessons From 90 Individuals, 90 Years and Older.

The idea for Wisdom of the Century was born from a simple desire: to capture the stories of people who have lived through almost an entire century of history. When my friend Sandra Coiffman first approached me with the idea of interviewing 100 people over the age of 100, I was intrigued but skeptical. I wasn’t sure we could find enough individuals in that age range, so we decided to focus on 90 people who are 90 or older. Little did we know that was the beginning of a journey that would be inspiring in every way.
